Orioles’ 2025 minor league coaching staffs: Mercado returns to Baysox, Goll takes over IronBirds

The Orioles announced their minor league coaching staffs for 2025 on Friday. Roberto Mercado will be returning to the renamed Double-A Chesapeake Baysox for a second season. Collin Woody will manage Single-A Delmarva for a second season, and Christian Frias will manage the Florida Complex League Orioles for a fourth season.

Ryan Goll, who joined the Orioles’ organization in 2020 and was fundamentals coach for High-A Aberdeen last year, will manage the IronBirds this season.

Tim Federowicz will manage Triple-A Norfolk, which was previously announced. Federowicz’s coaches will be returnees Justin Ramsey (pitching), Mike Montville (hitting), and Felipe Alou Jr. (third base/fundamentals), who managed Aberdeen and Delmarva the past three seasons. Billy Facteau, who was with the Baysox, will be the development coach.

Returning coaches for the Baysox will be Josh Bunselmeyer (hitting), and Chase Serby (fundamentals). Pitching coach Jordie Henery and development coach Calvin Christiansen will move up from Delmarva.

Aberdeen’s coaches will be Zach Cole (hitting), Jeremy Hileman (pitching), Adonis Smith (development), and Daniel Fajardo (fundamentals). Cole will be returning to the IronBirds. Fajardo is moving up from the Shorebirds. Hileman and Smith are new to the organization.

Delmarva’s coaches will be Christian Poulsen (hitting), Casey Day (pitching), Casey Buckley (development), and Luis Silverio (fundamentals).

The FCL coaches will be Adam Bleday and Bailey Vuylsteke (pitching), Teegan Leader and Jake Ratz (hitting). Longtime Norfolk coach Ramón Sambo, Landon Lassiter and James Johnson will be fundamentals coaches. Quentin Holmes and Cade Johson will be development coaches.

Chris Madera and Elbis Morel will again be the Dominican Summer League Orioles managers.
