Despite suffering a badly bruised right forearm when Colorado’s Jordan Beck lined a ball at him, Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer will start Friday night’s game against Tampa Bay, the team announced on Thursday night.
Kremer threw this week, and manager Brandon Hyde lauded him for being “incredibly tough” for trying to pitch in his regularly scheduled turn. Hyde remarked that there was still swelling present this week.
Kremer (6-9, 4.51) will face the Rays’ Shane Baz (2-2, 3.49) on Friday. Zach Eflin (10-7, 3.60) is scheduled to pitch against Ryan Pepiot (7-6, 3.76) on Saturday. Corbin Burnes (13-7, 3.19) and Zack Littell (5-9, 4.04) are scheduled to start on Sunday.
Saturday’s game will begin at 4:05 p.m.; Sunday’s game, which will be shown exclusively on Roku, will start at 12:05 p.m.
