WASHINGTON—Oriole starter Tyler Wells hasn’t pitched since April 12th because of right elbow inflammation. Manager Brandon Hyde doesn’t know when he’ll pitch again.
Wells, who’s on the 15-day injured list is “resting and rehabbing in Sarasota,” Hyde said. “Right now, he’s letting the inflammation go down.”
Meanwhile, Grayson Rodriguez, who’s on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation, threw 15 pitches before the Orioles-Nationals game on Wednesday and said he felt strong.
“I got off the mound for the first time and everything felt good,” Rodriguez said. “Very encouraging. Any time you’re on the IL, not good, but to be feeling good like I am, I guess pretty positive.
“Obviously, you don’t want to miss any starts, but it’s a long season. I’ll be healthy for September and October.”
Rodriguez isn’t sure when his next side session will be.
