Maryland Stadium Authority to hold Monday meeting on Orioles’ lease

With the Orioles’ lease at Camden Yards expiring on December 31st and premature reports last week that there was an agreement on a new 30-year lease, the Maryland Stadium Authority has scheduled a meeting on Monday morning on the lease.

The agenda for the meeting reads:

Baseball Stadium Lease Extension and Amendment
Generally, extends existing Ballpark lease; and includes:

Time for feasibility studies and governmental approvals to create a development
plan;

 Time for approvals of a Ground Lease agreement and a Master Development
Plan;

Options if a Ground Lease agreement and a Master Development Plan are not
approved by a certain date, to include entering into a new Facility Use
Agreement with a 30-year term.

Draft agreement to memorialize the terms and conditions of the 30-year lease
agreement to take effect upon approval of the Ground Lease agreement and Master
Development Plan.

The Orioles did not respond to requests for comment on the lease.

News of the meeting was first reported by The Baltimore Banner.
