It was another strong week across the region for high school baseball..
Pitching stood out, especially from our three candidates. Each threw a complete-game and mowed down a plethora of hitters.
Two also had big days at the plate.
Here are this week’s finalists:
Cameron Clark, Sr., INF/RHP, Severna Park
Clark, who is making his second appearance in our ‘Prep Ballplayer’ vote, started the week with a solo home run against Meade in a five-inning, 14-3 victory. On Thursday, the right-hander pitched a complete game against Broadneck, striking out 11 batters and allowing six hits. The next day, he had three hits – including a double – and one RBI in the team’s 6-2 loss against Arundel.
Gabe Delgado, Jr., RHP, Howard
The right-hander dominated Thursday against Centennial. In a complete-game, five-inning outing, Delgado allowed an unearned run on two hits while striking out 12. Howard came away with the 15-1 victory.

Nixon was consistently good last week. On Monday against St. Paul’s, the senior recorded a single and a double and knocked in four runs. He also scored a run and drew a walk in the team’s 13-2 win. Nixon started on the mound Thursday against Archbishop Spalding. In the 6-4 victory, the right-hander pitched all seven innings, giving up four runs on three hits while fanning nine..
