See how BaltimoreBaseball.com can grow your business.

Players across the state were on their game this past week.

Pitchers went the distance on numerous occasions and hitting was contagious throughout the high school lineups – resulting in a few walk-off wins.

Our fourth “Prep Ballplayer of the Week” includes a player who is making his second appearance this season and two candidates who are newcomers.

THIS WEEK’S FINALISTS

Paul Nixon, Jr., INF, Archbishop Curley
The Friars’ infielder reached base a total of six times in two games this past week. Last Monday against St. Paul’s, Nixon roped a two-run double in a 13-1 win. He also drew two walks and scored three runs. On Wednesday, the right-handed hitter showcased his speed and power at the plate – slugging a triple and home run against McDonogh. He also scored a run in the 6-0 triumph.

Joe Seidler, Jr., INF/RHP, Chesapeake-Anne Arundel
Seidler makes his second appearance this season as a “Prep Ballplayer of the Week” finalist. The right-hander pitched into the 9th inning Wednesday against Northeast. He allowed one run, gave up three hits and struck out seven. Chesapeake earned the 2-1 victory. Two days later, Seidler recorded a hit and an RBI in a 6-1 win over North County.

Andrew Sowinski, So., LHP, Annapolis Area Christian
Sowinski was dominant in six innings Wednesday afternoon. The southpaw struck out 12 batters in a 14-0 rout over Friends School. He allowed three hits.

Others considered (listed alphabetically): Patrick Alexander, Reservoir; Kyle Baldwin, Old Mill; Tyler Green, Northeast; Marcus Khademi, Glenelg Country; Kody Milton, Severna Park; Jake Murphy, North County; Will Schubert, Arundel.
