Question: Is it just me or does it seem like Orioles manager Craig Albernaz has a different batting lineup game after game? I’m curious if you track this and can tell me home many different lineups he’s used. I realize injuries play a part in putting a lineup together, but I also think having some consistency would allow players to get comfortable in a given slot, rather than being moved all the time. Answer: David, Wednesday night’s lineup was the 111th different lineup that Albernaz has used in 127 games. The most common lineups, which including Adley Rutschman and Taylor Ward, were used only four times this season.
Including Wednesday night, the Yankees have used 109 different lineups in 126 games.
I think lots of Oriole fans long for the days when Earl Weaver seemingly used the same players in each game, but in 1970, he used 133 different lineups in 162 games.
Question: Do you have the average run support for each starting pitcher. Shane Baz sure seems to be suffering from it. From: Allen File
Answer: Allen, according to the website Screwball.com., Shane Baz has the second-lowest run support of any starter in baseball. The Orioles have scored just 3.12 runs in Baz’s starts. Only Cleveland’s Tanner Bibee has had fewer runs scored on his behalf.
