Orioles acquire Hagerstown native Jayvien Sandridge from Angels

BALTIMORE—The Orioles acquired left-handed pitcher Jayvien Sandridge from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for cash considerations. He’s been optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.

The 27-year-old is a native of Hagerstown, and pitched in one game for the New York Yankees last season, allowing two runs on a hit, walking two and striking out two. The hit was a home run by Pete Alonso, when he played for the Mets.

Sandridge was selected by the Orioles in the 32nd round of the 2018 draft. He pitched in 26 games for the Orioles’ Gulf Coast team in 2018 and 2019 before he was released in 2020.

Since then, he’s been in the Cincinnati, San Diego, Yankees and Angels organizations.
