The Orioles have invited 30 non-roster players to camp. Let’s take a closer look at some of them.
We already know about Albert Suárez, who seems like the best shot of the non-roster players to make the Orioles’ pitching staff, and outfielder Jhonkensy Noel, the slugger known as “Big Christmas.”
Outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr. was a lock to be invited for the second straight year, and pitcher Trey Gibson’s invitation was a certainty after he was named the organization’s minor league player of the year.
Top 30 prospects
Besides Samuel Basallo (No. 1) and Dylan Beavers (No.2), who are on the 40-man roster, Bradfield (4) and Gibson (9) will be on hand next week when camp opens.
Right-hander Neston German (11) was the Orioles’ 11th-round pick in the 2023 draft. The 23 year-old was 6-7 with a 3.93 ERA in 26 games with Triple-A Norfolk, Double-A Chesapeake and High-A Aberdeen.
Left-hander Luis De Léon (18) hopes to be the first Orioles homegrown Dominican pitcher since Daniel Cabrera in 2008. De Léon was 5-3 with a 3.30 ERA in 20 games for Chesapeake, Aberdeen and the FCL Orioles. He struck out 107 batters in 87 1/3 innings and was impressive for Peoria in the Arizona Fall League.
Right-hander Levi Wells (19) was the Orioles’ fourth-round draft pick in 2023. He was 2-6 with a 3.48 ERA in 25 games for Triple-A Norfolk and Chesapeake.
Infielder Aron Estrada (22) could be the next Latin American position player signed by the Orioles to reach the majors. Estrada, who’s played shortstop, second and some left field in the minors, hit .288 with an .813 OPS with 10 home runs and 53 RBIs in 108 games with the Baysox and IronBirds.
Catcher/first baseman Ethan Anderson (27) was drafted in the second round in 2024. Anderson hit .247 with four home runs and 45 RBIs in 90 games for Chesapeake and Aberdeen. He hit .300 with an .840 OPS in 19 games with Peoria in the Fall League.
Catcher/first baseman Creed Willems (30) was an eighth-round draft pick in 2021. Willems hit .253 with 16 home runs and 59 RBIs for Chesapeake.
Players with Orioles experience
Catcher Maverick Handley, who made his major league debut last season returns. He hit (.073), going 3-for-41 with three RBIs in 16 games.
Like Handley, infielder Luis Vázquez was also a non-roster invite last season. Vázquez played all four infield positions and hit .160 with a home run and three RBIs in 32 games.
First baseman/outfielder Ryan Noda was 2-for-13 (.154) with an RBI in seven games after he was claimed off waivers from the Chicago White Sox.
Players with major league experience
Right-hander Hans Crouse was signed on January 20th. In 27 games with Philadelphia and the Los Angeles Angels in 2021 and 2024, Crouse is 4-5 with a 3.34 ERA in 27 games. Crouse has averaged just five hits per nine innings.
Left-hander Josh Walker has been claimed off waivers twice, most recently on December 10th from Atlanta, but was later removed from the 40-man roster. In 27 games with the New York Mets and Toronto in the last three seasons, Walker is 0-1 with a 6.59 ERA.
Right-hander Enoli Paredes signed a minor league contract in November. Paredes was 4-3 with a 3.00 ERA with a save in 55 games with Houston, Milwaukee and the Chicago Cubs in four seasons.
Catcher Sam Huff was signed to a minor league contract on January 15th. In 98 games in five seasons with Texas and San Francisco, Huff is hitting .247 with 12 home runs and 24 RBIs.
Infielder José Barrero was signed as a minor league free agent last July and re-signed this offseason. In five seasons with Cincinnati and St. Louis, Barrero hit .182 in 161 games. He hit .190 in 53 games with Norfolk.
Outfielder Will Robertson was claimed off waivers from Pittsburgh on December 5th and taken off the 40-man roster when the Orioles re-signed Zach Eflin. Robertson hit .173 with nine RBIs in 27 games with the White Sox and Toronto last season.
Non-ranked Orioles prospects
Keagan Gillies is a 6-foot-8, 255-pound right-hander, who was chosen in the 15th round of the 2021 draft. Gillies, who pitched in the Futures Game last season, was 4-2 with a 2.68 ERA with nine saves in 42 games with Norfolk and Chesapeake. Gillies walked just over two batters per nine innings.
Cameron Weston was the Orioles’ eighth-round choice in the 2022 draft. Weston was 5-9 with a 4.59 ERA in 29 games for Norfolk. Weston walked 4.7 batters per nine innings.
Catcher Silas Ardoin is a non-roster invitee for the third straight spring. Ardoin, who was taken in the fourth round of the 2022 draft, hit .216 with eight home runs and 40 RBIs in 100 games with Chesapeake and Norfolk.
Outfielder Jud Fabian is a non-roster invitee for the second consecutive spring. Fabian was a second-round draft pick in 2022 and hit .186 with 15 home runs and 40 RBIs in 112 games for Norfolk and Aberdeen. Fabian struck out 139 times in 2026.
New to the Orioles
Left-hander Andrew Magno was 8-1 with a 2.31 ERA and four saves in 42 games for Double-A Erie in the Detroit organization. He allowed just 44 hits and two home runs in 66 1/3 innings.
Left-hander Eric Torres pitched in the Los Angeles Angels organization for four seasons. Torres was 2-1 with a 1.59 ERA and 16 saves in 39 games in Independent ball last season. He’s pitched 23 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing just six hits for Ponce in the Puerto Rican Winter League. Torres has stuck out 39 and walked seven
Right-hander Jeisson Cabrera was 4-1 with a 3.71 ERA and two saves in 36 games for Double-A Tulsa in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization last season. Cabrera walked 6.6 batters per nine innings.
Right-hander Richard Guasch was 3-4 with a 2.74 ERA and five saves in 28 games for Tulsa in the Dodgers organization last season. He allowed just 5.5 hits per nine innings.
Right-hander Jean Carlos Henriquez is perhaps the longest shot in Orioles camp. At 32, Henriquez hasn’t pitched in organized ball since 2015 when he pitched for Tampa Bay’s Dominican Summer League team. He’s 2-1 with a 2.73 ERA with Aguilas in the Dominican Winter League. Henriquez struck out 26 and walked four without allowing a home run in 23 1/3 innings.
Infielder Payton Eeles was obtained from Minnesota in exchange for catcher Alex Jackson. Eeles, who was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Twins in 2024, hit .261 with four homers and 34 RBIs in 99 games with 27 stolen bases for Triple-A Saint Paul, High-A Cedar Rapids and Single-A Fort Myers last season. Eeles is listed as 5-foot-5, 180 lbs.
Infielder Willy Vasquez hit .256 with two home runs and 15 RBIs in 44 games for Double-A Montgomery in the Tampa Bay organization last season. He’s primarily a third baseman.
