Orioles’ Sugano leaves game after being hit on right foot

BALTIMORE—Oriole starter Tomoyuki Sugano left Sunday’s game against the Dodgers after he was struck on the right foot by a hard bouncer by Hyeseong Kim in the fourth inning.

The Orioles report his injury as right foot discomfort.

Sugano allowed four runs on seven hits in three-plus innings. Shohei Ohtani homered twice, a leadoff homer in the first, and in the third. Mookie Betts followed Ohtani’s second homer with a home run.

Sugano, who hasn’t missed a start all season, became the third Oriole to leave a game against Los Angeles this weekend. On Friday night, starter Dean Kremer left after three innings because of right forearm discomfort, and catcher Samuel Basallo was forced to leave Saturday night’s game in the fifth inning after he was hit by a foul ball.
