BALTIMORE—After the trade of Seranthony Domínguez to the Toronto Blue Jays between games of Tuesday’s doubleheader, the Orioles added two new relievers for Game 2.
Right-hander Elvin Rodriguez, whom they selected off waivers from Milwaukee, and right-hander Houston Roth, who was drafted in the 29th round in 2019, join the bullpen.
Yaramil Hiraldo, who pitched the final two innings of Tuesday’s 16-4 win over the Blue Jays, was optioned to Double-A Chesapeake.
Rodriguez, who was 0-6 with a 9.23 ERA in 14 games for Detroit, Tampa Bay and the Brewers, appeared in two games for Norfolk and had a 3.38 ERA.
Roth was 4-0 with a 2.21 ERA and two saves in 24 games for the Baysox and Triple-A Norfolk.
The Orioles’ bullpen has three experienced relievers — right-handers Yennier Cano and Andrew Kittredge, and left-hander Keegan Akin. The inexperienced relievers are Rodriguez, Roth, right-handers Corbin Martin and Kade Strowd, and left-hander Grant Wolfram.
