BALTIMORE—Oriole starter Zach Eflin left Saturday’s game after one inning with lower back tightness. It was the shortest start of his major league career, which began in 2016.
Eflin allowed four runs on five hits, including a 467-foot home run by Tampa Bay’s Jonathan Aranda. He also committed a throwing error when Chandler Simpson stole second base.
Earlier this season, Eflin missed more than a month with a right lat strain. In his previous two starts, Eflin allowed 13 runs on 22 hits in eight innings.
He was replaced by Scott Blewett for the second inning.
