SACRAMENTO, California—The Orioles have reinstated outfielder Ramón Laureano from the 10-day injured list. Laureano had been on the IL because of a sprained left ankle.
To make room for Laureano on the 26-man roster, the Orioles designated outfielder Jordyn Adams for assignment.
They’ve also reacquired 29-year-old right-hander Scott Blewett from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for cash considerations. Blewett was sold by the Orioles to Atlanta on April 20th. He was designated for assignment by the Braves after Thursday’s game.
Laureano is hitting .266 with an .852 OPS, six home runs and 11 RBIs. He was 3-for-8 (.375) with a home run in two rehab games for Triple-A Norfolk.
Adams, who was a defensive replacement in five games, had one hitless at-bat on Thursday.
Blewett allowed an unearned run on five hits in 4 1/3 innings in two games with the Orioles. In 11 games with Atlanta, he was 2-0 with a 5.51 ERA. Blewett allowed five runs in 1 1/3 innings in the Braves’ 11-10 loss to Arizona on Thursday. Before that appearance, Blewett had pitched to a 3.00 ERA in 15 innings.
He has yet to report to the Orioles.
Utility player Cooper Hummel elected free agency instead of accepting an outright assignment to Norfolk.
