Question: Is there something wrong with my math…the last time the Orioles hosted an All-Star game was in 1993. 33 years ago. 30 teams in MLB….33 years…I guess we got skipped? Most likely because Camden Yards has such a bad reputation to watch a game and is in no way shape or form would it be one of the most exciting places to watch the game and oh yeah…the HR derby. Answer: Ryan, the feeling has long been that Baltimore has had to wait too long for another All-Star Game because of the MASN dispute between the Orioles and Nationals. That dispute was settled in March 2025, and I think the All-Star Game will return to Baltimore in the next few years, perhaps in 2029 or 2030.

Question: I just saw that Eric Booth has been named the Orioles No. 1 prospect. Isn’t that premature considering he hasn’t played yet? And does it speak to how great Booth is going to be or how bereft of talent the minor league system currently is? From: Edward Cuneo

Answer: Ed, the Orioles have some good prospects in the farm, but none with the tools that Booth has. He’s the top prospect according to Baseball America, and perhaps he’ll be No. 1 in MLB Pipeline soon.

The Orioles haven’t had a prospect with the upside Booth has since Jackson Holliday, so even though I haven’t seen him play, I’d go along with ranking him as the No. 1 prospect.
