BALTIMORE—Baseball’s top prospect, Jackson Holliday, is on his way to Baltimore to rejoin the Orioles. Holliday was called up by the Orioles in April and went just 2-for-34 (.059) in 10 games before he was returned to Triple-A Norfolk.
Holliday, who was hitting .271 with 10 home runs and 38 RBIs and a .908 OPS in 71 games with Norfolk, had missed time with an inflamed right elbow. After a stint as the Tides’ designated hitter, he’d been easing his way back into playing second base.
With Tuesday’s trade of Connor Norby to Miami, a space is open for Holliday.
News of Holliday’s promotion was reported by The Baltimore Banner and confirmed by industry sources.
