Every weekday, I’ll be answering at least one Orioles question. If you’d like to submit a question, send it to: [email protected]. Questions may be edited for clarity, length and style.

Question: Do you think the Orioles will trade for Miami’s Jesús Luzardo? The Orioles have been linked to him, and I think he would be a good fit. From: Dan MacIver via Facebook

Answer: Trading for pitching and Luzardo is a popular topic here. Dave Kausch proposed a trade for him with the Marlins. Marty Cardellina wants to know if Luis Severino is a possibility.

Dan and Dave, I think that Luzardo will be a popular trade target, and that it would take multiple prospects to get him. As for Severino, who’s with the Mets, the cost should be lower since Luzardo has two more years of club control beyond this year and Severino is on a one-year deal with the Mets.

I suspect this won’t be the last time this question is asked or answered in advance of the July 30th trade deadline.

Question: I watched Albert Suárez warming up before the game. He only warmed up by pitching from the stretch. He pitched only from the stretch in the first inning. But from innings 2-5, he pitched out of the windup, except with runners on. Why did he change? From: Richard Silberg, Pikesville

Answer: Richard, Albert Suárez always warms up in the stretch because he feels it prepares him better for the game. On Friday, his leadoff batter Yandy Diaz reached base and that’s why he pitched in the stretch.
