A day after he was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk, Jackson Holliday was hitless in four at-bats in the Tides’ 5-4 win over Gwinnett in 10 innings.
Rightfielder Daniel Johnson drove in three runs and hit a two-run home run. Third baseman Coby Mayo drove in the winning run with a single.

Starter Chayce McDermott left the game after registering just two outs in the first inning. He threw 36 pitches, allowing a run on a hit and three walks. Cionel Pérez threw a scoreless inning in his second rehab appearance, walking one and striking out one.
For the second straight game, Double-A Bowie was held to two hits in its 4-0 loss to Richmond. The first 22 Baysox were retired.
Starter Brandon Young, who returned from an oblique injury, pitched three perfect innings, striking out seven.
Single-A Delmarva lost to Fredericksburg, 7-5. Third baseman Anderson De Los Santos and rightfielder Douglas Hodo homered. The Shorebirds are 3-16.
