Orioles’ spring training workouts open to fans beginning Thursday

SARASOTA—Oriole pitchers and catchers will have their first workout on Thursday, and the public is welcome to watch at the Ed Smith Stadium complex.

Workouts from Thursday until February 24th are free and open to fans. They’re expected to begin at 10 a.m. and last until about 1 p.m. Parking is free on the East Lot.

Position players report on February 20th, and the first full-squad workout is on February 21st.

Spring TV schedule: The Orioles will telecast four games this spring: March 6th vs. Philadelphia, March 18th at Boston on MASN2, March 21st vs. Boston, and March 27th vs. St. Louis. Games will begin at 1:05 p.m.

Guest instructors: The Orioles will have four guest instructors this spring. Scott McGregor will be on hand from February 15th-20th; Mike Devereaux, from  February 21st-27th; Mike Bordick, from February 24th-March 2nd; and Ben McDonald, from  March 2nd-8th.

College baseball in Sarasota: Ed Smith Stadium will host the Snowbird Classic this weekend. The University of Maine will play the University of Pittsburgh on Friday at 2 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday at noon. The University of Connecticut will play Ohio State on Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m. Tickets are available at Orioles.com/Spring.
