The Orioles recalled left-handed pitcher Zac Lowther from Triple-A Norfolk and sent right-hander Cody Sedlock to the Tides on Tuesday.
Lowther, who was 1-3 with a 6.67 ERA in 10 games, six starts, with the Orioles last season, could follow Tuesday night’s starter against the Seattle Mariners, Bryan Baker, and give the Orioles long relief.
Lowther, who was 1-4 with an 8.26 ERA in eight games at Norfolk, replaces Sedlock on the roster. Sedlock was optioned to Norfolk after Monday night’s game. He pitched three scoreless innings in Sunday’s game at Boston before allowing five runs in his fourth inning.
Baker started and pitched 2 2/3 innings on May 12th in St. Louis in his first major league start.
