Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday was removed from Triple-A Norfolk’s game against Memphis on Tuesday because of right hand discomfort.
Holliday, who had surgery to remove the hamate bone from his right wrist in February, was in his first game with Norfolk in his second rehab stint and struck out on a foul tip in the first inning. He was in noticeable pain after the swing.
Holliday, who didn’t play in spring training and hoped to return by mid-April, hit .167 with three RBIs in 11 games with Norfolk before his first rehab stint ended on April 11th.
He returned to Baltimore and had his wrist examined before he played two games for High-A Frederick last weekend, going 2-for-8 with an RBI.
