Orioles place Luis Robert Jr. on injured list with hamstring injury, recall Hinds, Nunez, designate Suárez for assignment; O’s-Red Sox lineups

BALTIMORE—Outfielder Luis Robert Jr., who’s played three games with the Orioles since he was claimed off waivers from the New York Mets on Monday, was placed on the 10-day injured list with left hamstring discomfort.

Robert is 2-for-11 (.182) with a home run and three RBIs. He has a $20 million option or a $2 million buyout for 2027.

The Orioles recalled right-handed hitting outfielder Rece Hinds from Triple-A Norfolk, and he’s in left field, batting sixth against the Red Sox on Sunday.

Hinds was acquired from the Miami Marlins in exchange for cash considerations on August 3^rd. He hit .268 with two home runs and 14 RBIs and an. 810 OPS in 19 games for Norfolk.

“I’ve been able to get the ball rolling a little bit,” Hinds said. “Been playing five to six times a week over there, so it’s been nice.

The 26-year-old hit .114 with five RBIs in 13 games for Cincinnati and Miami.

“It’s been kind of crazy. It’s my third team this year,” he said. “I’m getting a little groove of things now. Getting over here to play every day in Norfolk was kind of nice to get in that groove.

The Orioles also recalled right-hander Anthony Nunez from Norfolk. He’s 3-2 with a 4.29 ERA and three saves in 44 games.

Right-hander Albert Suárez was designated for assignment. It’s the fifth time Suárez has been let go by the Orioles. He pitched three innings on Saturday night, allowing two runs on three hits. In 27 games this season, Suárez is 2-0 with a 4.12 ERA and a save.
