ST. PETERSBURG, Florida—Needing another bullpen arm, the Orioles have added Albert Suárez to their roster, selecting his contract from Triple-A Norfolk.
It will be Suárez’s third stint with the Orioles this season. The 36-year-old right-hander is 1-0 with a 3.45 ERA in six games.
Right-hander Cameron Foster, who allowed four runs in 1 1/3 innings in Monday night’s 16-6 loss to Tampa Bay, was optioned to Norfolk. He had a 9.00 ERA in six games.
To make room for Suárez on the 40-man roster, the Orioles designated catcher Maverick Handley for assignment. Handley, who had one hitless at-bat for the Orioles, was optioned to Norfolk before Monday night’s game to make room for Jackson Holliday.
