The Orioles have placed left-hander Trevor Rogers on the 15-day injured list because of illness. That move is retroactive to Sunday.
Rogers last pitched on Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits while throwing 62 pitches in 1 2/3 innings against Boston.
In six starts, Rogers is 2-3 with a 4.75 ERA.
Right-hander Cameron Foster was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk. Foster had a 6.35 ERA in four games earlier this month for the Orioles.
Right-hander Albert Suárez passed through waivers and refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk, electing free agency. He is expected to sign a new minor league deal with the Orioles, who have 38 players on their 40-man roster.
The Orioles will be able to add a player for Thursday’s doubleheader against Houston.
Chris Bassitt (1-2, 6.75) will start against Peter Lambert (1-1, 3.27) in Game 1. Brandon Young (2-0, 2.53) will start Game 2 against Lance McCullers (1-2, 6.75).
