The Orioles placed right-handed starter Dean Kremer on the 15-day injured list with a strained right quadriceps muscle and recalled right-hander Brandon Young from Triple-A Norfolk.
Kremer’s move is retroactive to Monday.
In two starts this season, Kremer is 0-1 with a 4.09 ERA. He allowed three runs on two hits in six innings in a 4-2 Orioles loss to Cleveland on Sunday.
Kremer began the season at Norfolk and was recalled to start April 13th against Arizona. He allowed three home runs in five innings in a 9-7 Orioles win.
Young, who will start against the Boston Red Sox on Friday night, pitched five scoreless innings, allowing two hits, against the Chicago White Sox at Rate Field on April 6th.
Trevor Rogers (2-2, 4.08) will start on Saturday and Kyle Bradish (1-2, 3.96) will start on Sunday.
Kremer is the 13th player on the injured list for the Orioles.
