BALTIMORE—Orioles designated hitter Ryan Mountcastle left Saturday night’s game in the second inning with left foot pain. Mountcastle stumbled halfway between first and second base and dove into second for a double.
After he was examined by assistant athletic trainer Ben Fraser and manager Craig Albernaz, Mountcastle left the game and was replaced by pinch-runner Dylan Beavers.
Mountcastle was limited to 89 games last season because of a strained right hamstring.
He was hitting .286 (4-for-14) with an RBI in eight games.
