SARASOTA—Orioles outfielder Heston Kjerstad will have an MRI on his right hamstring on Sunday after the club returns to Baltimore.
Kjerstad was removed from Thursday’s game because of hamstring tightness.
“It’s tight, so we want to be precautionary and get it looked at,” manager Craig Albernaz said.
Kjerstad hit .195 with two home runs and four RBIs and 11 strikeouts in 13 Grapefruit League games.
Outfielder Dylan Beavers, who was scratched from Friday night’s game against the New York Yankees in Tampa because of right knee discomfort, thinks he’ll be ready for Opening Day next Thursday.
“It’s just a little tightness in the quad,” Beavers said. “It was a little sore yesterday, not really pushing it, but better today.”
