Question: What should Santa bring the Orioles this Christmas? And might anyone receive coal in a stocking? Merry Christmas. From: Ed Helinski, Auburn N.Y.
Answer: Ed, I would say Santa has been very good to the Orioles this offseason. Adding first baseman Pete Alonso as a free agent and starting pitcher Shane Baz in a trade in the past few weeks has met with approval from the fans.
Earlier in the offseason, relievers Ryan Helsley and Andrew Kittredge and outfielder Taylor Ward arrived.
Hopefully, there will be another starting pitcher and maybe some other gifts in stockings for Oriole fans.
Question: Why do I see so many analysts writing off Dean Kremer? In my opinion, he’s a very solid back-of-rotation pitcher? From: Gregory Goodwin
Answer: Gregory, who are these analysts you’re referring to? I haven’t seen anyone downplaying Dean Kremer. I think with the addition of Shane Baz and full seasons from Kyle Bradish and Trevor Rogers and perhaps another good starter, Kremer fits nicely into the back of the rotation. I think having other fine starters will make him more effective.
Most weekdays, I’ll be answering at least one Orioles question. If you’d like to submit a question, send it to: Rich@BaltimoreBaseball.com. Questions may be edited for clarity, length and style.
