Tony Mansolino, who managed the Orioles for the final 119 games of the 2025 season, will be the Atlanta Braves’ third base coach in 2026, according to a team announcement.
Mansolino had been the Orioles’ third base coach from 2021 until May 17th when he replaced Brandon Hyde, who was fired. Mansolino was 60-59 as interim manager.
President of baseball operations Mike Elias said that Mansolino would be “a real candidate” for the fulltime manager’s position on September 29th, but the Orioles hired Craig Albernaz, who is now building his coaching staff.
Mansolino joins his 69-year-old father, Doug, a longtime major league coach who has served as a field coordinator for the Braves.
The 43-year-old will work under new manager Walt Weiss, who replaced Brian Snitker. The 70-year-old Snitker retired after the season.
After Weiss’ hiring this week, the team announced that former Orioles bench coach Fredi González, who was Atlanta’s third base coach for the second half of the 2025 season, would not be returning.
