Will Orioles try to re-sign Sugano? | MAILBAG

Question: Will the Orioles make an effort to bring Tomoyuki Sugano back next year? From: Daniel Forte

Answer: Daniel, I guess they won’t make a great effort to re-sign Sugano. He’s pitched well at times, but I think they can do better with a younger starter. Sugano is 36, and the guess here is that they’d like a starter who can give them two or three seasons rather than hoping for another one like this one.

Question: Which do you think are the best planned ballpark renovations and why? Which would you have preferred? What other renovations not now planned, do you believe ought to be? From: Mark Eisner

Answer: Mark, I think this is a question best asked after the renovations are complete, or early next season when we’ve experienced them. Obviously, I’ve been focused on the new press box, but since it hasn’t yet been built, I can’t tell you how I like it.

I am looking forward to the new scoreboard, which I know will be a great improvement and the permanent sound system. This year’s sound system is an improvement since we can hear it in the press box, but some fans say they still have trouble hearing it.

Please ask this again next spring for a more complete answer.

Most weekdays, I’ll be answering at least one Orioles question. If you’d like to submit a question, send it to: Rich@BaltimoreBaseball.com. Questions may be edited for clarity, length and style.
