Will Orioles’ Rogers get Cy Young Award votes? | MAILBAG

Question: What kind of love do you expect from Cy Young voters for Trevor Rogers? He’s been one of the most dominant starters in the majors since being called up at the end of May. Does he get votes? From: Mike Brice

Answer: Mike, I am not a voter for the Cy Young Award this year, but if I were, I would vote for him fourth behind Tarik Skubal, Garrett Crochet and Hunter Brown, and ahead of reliever Aroldis Chapman.

Rogers has been excellent, but he’s started 16 times while the others have started 29 or 30 times.

Question: Sure looks to be an exceptional 2025 draft class top to bottom- was there anyone not signed? From: Rick Little

Answer: Rick, I agree. The draft class looks as though it was excellent. The Orioles drafted 24 players and signed 21. The three who didn’t sign were Daniel Lopez, a pitcher chosen in the 12th round, Cole Johnson, a high school outfielder taken in the 18th round, and Jimmy Anderson, a shortstop who was their 19th-round pick.

Johnson and Anderson were junior college selections.

Most weekdays, I’ll be answering at least one Orioles question. If you’d like to submit a question, send it to: Rich@BaltimoreBaseball.com. Questions may be edited for clarity, length and style.
