Orioles place Dubin on injured list, recall Ragsdale

The Orioles placed right-handed pitcher Shawn Dubin on the 15-day injured list retroactive to Saturday because of right elbow discomfort. It ends Dubin’s season. Right-handed pitcher Carson Ragsdale was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk.

Dubin had a 3.38 ERA in seven games for the Orioles since he was claimed off waivers from Houston on August 26th.

Ragsdale, who has never pitched in the majors, was claimed off waivers from San Francisco on August 3rd.

He was 2-2 with a 3.47 ERA in seven games, five starts, with Norfolk.

The 6-foot-8, 235-pound 27-year-old was Philadelphia’s fourth-round pick in the 2020 draft.

When Ragsdale appears in a game, he’ll be the 68th player used by the Orioles, extending their franchise record. The major league record is 70 by Miami in 2024.
