The Orioles placed right-hander Zach Eflin on the 15-day injured list on Monday because of lower back discomfort. The move is retroactive to Sunday. Eflin left Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays after one inning.
Eflin, who’s 6-5 with a 5.95 ERA in 12 starts, missed more than a month earlier this season when he was on the IL with a right lat strain.
Right-hander Brandon Young was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk. Young is 0-2 with a 7.11 ERA in three starts. Young will start for the Orioles on Tuesday.
Charlie Morton has been pushed back to Friday in Atlanta with low grade elbow tendinitis.
