The Orioles optioned right-hander reliever Colin Selby to Triple-A Norfolk and recalled left-hander Grant Wolfram. Selby, who pitched two scoreless innings and struck out five at Tampa Bay on Monday night, has a 3.18 ERA in four appearances. He’s struck out 10 in 5 2/3 innings this season.
Wolfram has a 13.50 ERA in two April appearances for the Orioles. He’s allowed two runs on three hits in 1 1/3 innings. At Norfolk, Wolfram, who was acquired from Milwaukee on April 7th in exchange for outfielder Daz Cameron, is 1-3 with a 4.87 ERA in 18 games.
The promotion of Wolfram is likely to be a temporary one. The Orioles need a starter for Wednesday night and are expected to add left-hander Trevor Rogers to the roster.
