Question: James McCann did such a good job last year as the Orioles backup catcher. Did he not want to re-sign with the Orioles or was he not offered a contract for 2025? From: Richard D Hash Jr.
Answer: Richard, there is no bigger James McCann fan than yours truly. I was hoping he would re-sign with the Orioles, but it’s obvious that there wasn’t any interest. I thought it was a mistake not to bring him back.
Question: When a player goes on the injured list are they still paid their contract salary or is it adjusted based on how long they are on the injured list. Thanks. From: Richard Poffel
Answer: It’s certainly Richard day at the mailbag. Players are paid their full salary for as long as they’re on the major league injured list.
