The Orioles activated right-handed reliever Alex Hoppe on Wednesday. Hoppe, who was acquired in the trade that sent outfielder Taylor Ward to Seattle on Monday, was 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA in games with the Mariners.
Right-hander Anthony Nunez was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk after Tuesday night’s game. This is the second time this season that Nunez has been sent to Norfolk.
Nunez was 3-2 with a 4.60 ERA and three saves in 40 games.
When Hoppe appears in a game, he’ll be the 52nd player used by the Orioles this season.
