Corbin Burnes, the top pitcher on the free-agent market, and Anthony Santander, who hit 44 home runs in 2024, rejected $21.05 million qualifying offers from the Orioles on Tuesday.
Burnes and Santander were among 12 players who rejected the offers. Only Cincinnati right-hander Nick Martinez accepted the offer, according to MLB’s Mark Feinsand.
If Burnes and Santander sign with another club, the Orioles will receive a draft choice from the team that signs them.
Note: The Chicago White Sox reached an agreement with outfielder Austin Slater, who was acquired by the Orioles from Cincinnati along with infielder Liván Soto at the trade deadline for cash considerations. The New York Post’s Jon Heyman was first with the news.
