Hays, who’s been on the 10-day injured list with a strained left calf muscle, is set to play five innings for the Baysox when they face Akron at Prince George’s Stadium, Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said.

Hays was hitting just .111 (5-for-45) with two RBIs when he was hurt.
“In rehab at-bats, it’s kind of tough,” Hyde said. “He hasn’t faced live pitching in a while. It’s more about the calf and feeling healthy, seeing live pitching and hopefully he can come back ready to go for us.”
