Orioles right-handed starting pitcher Kyle Bradish, who suffered a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow earlier this year, is set to join High-A Aberdeen on Tuesday and will begin a rehab assignment soon.
When the Orioles began spring training on February 14th, executive vice president/general manager Mike Elias revealed Bradish’s injury. Just before the end of spring training, Elias said he thought Bradish would pitch in the first part of the season.
Bradish, who was 12-8 with a 2.83 earned-run average and finished fourth in the Cy Young Award voting last season, began throwing bullpen sessions during the later part of spring training.
Left-handed starting pitcher John Means, who is also on the 15-day injured list with a left forearm strain, has thrown two rehab starts for Triple-A Norfolk.
