BALTIMORE–Orioles starter John Means, who didn’t pitch in any Grapefruit League games, is set to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk. Means, who started four times last September after his April 2022 Tommy John surgery, was not put on last October’s Division Series roster because his left elbow was sore.
When spring training began on February 14th, Orioles executive vice president/general manager Mike Elias said that Means would be about a month behind the other starters, and that he would begin the season on the injured list.
Means will make several rehab starts for Norfolk. His rehab assignment can last up to 30 days.
The Tides will open their season on Friday night against Durham.
