Adley Rutschman has a sizable lead among American League catchers in the first All-Star balloting results. Rutschman has 460, 496 votes, leading Texas’ Jonah Heim by more than 140,000 votes.
Voting continues through June 22nd at noon, and the top two vote-getters at each position and top six outfielders will advance to the final round of voting. The results will be announced on MLB Network at 6 p.m. on June 22nd.
The other Orioles among the voting leaders are first baseman Ryan Mountcastle, second baseman Adam Frazier and shortstop Jorge Mateo, who are each eighth; third baseman Ramón Urías, who is 10th; and outfielders Austin Hays and Cedric Mullins who are 18th and 20th.
Full rosters of the All-Star teams will be announced on July 2nd.
