The Orioles activated catcher Luis Torrens, who was acquired from the Chicago Cubs for cash considerations, and optioned first baseman/outfielder Ryan O’Hearn to Triple-A Norfolk after Thursday’s game.
Along with Adley Rutschman and James McCann, Torrens, who’ll wear No. 13, will give the Orioles three catchers.
O’Hearn hit .263 (5-for-19) in nine games with six RBIs for the Orioles.
Torrens is a lifetime .227 hitter in six major league seasons with the Cubs, San Diego and Seattle.
