The Orioles announced their 2023 coaching staff on Tuesday. The only change was the addition of Cody Asche as their offensive strategist.
Asche, who served as the team’s upper-level hitting coordinator in 2022, played in parts of five seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox from 2013-2017.
Asche joins eight holdovers from the 2022 staff. Co-hitting coaches Matt Borgschulte and Ryan Fuller will be in their second season. Pitching coach/director of pitching Chris Holt and third base coach Tony Mansolino enter their third season. Assistant pitching coach Darren Holmes, bench coach Fredi González and first base Coach Anthony Sanders begin their fourth season.
Major league field coordinator/catching instructor Tim Cossins and Major league coach José Hernández arrived with manager Brandon Hyde and begin their fifth season.
