The Orioles promoted two of their brightest prospects, infielders Gunnar Henderson and Jordan Westburg, from Double-A Bowie to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.
Henderson, who was the Orioles’ second-round pick in the 2019 draft, was hitting .312 with eight home runs and 35 RBIs for Bowie. He walked more often than he struck out (41 to 38) with an on-base percentage of .452 and an OPS of 1.025 .
Henderson, who will turn 21 on June 29th, played 27 games at third base and 18 at shortstop while serving as the designated hitter in two games.
Westburg, the 30th overall pick in the 202o draft, was hitting .247 with nine home runs and 32 RBIs for the Baysox. Westburg’s on-base percentage was .347 and his OPS was .817.
The 23-year-old played 16 games at second and third, 13 at shortstop and one game as the designated hitter.
Henderson and Westburg will join Norfolk for its game Tuesday night at Nashville.
