Although Major League Baseball is done for 2017, there are some games being played that are worth our attention – at least a little bit of attention as November progresses.

The Arizona Fall League, which showcases some of the better prospects in the minors, has been going on for several weeks now.

On Saturday, the AFL hosted its “Fall Stars” game and two Orioles’ minor leaguers acquitted themselves well. Lefty reliever Tanner Scott allowed one hit, a double, while striking out four in two scoreless innings. He fanned the side in the third inning – all swinging third strikes.

Third baseman Ryan Mountcastle had a RBI groundout and a double in two at-bats as the East beat the West, 4-2.

The 20-year-ol Mountcastle, who ended this season at Double-A Bowie, has hit .246 with a .303 on-base percentage in 61 at-bats in the AFL. But when he makes contact, it has counted. He has three homers and 13 RBIs for the Salt River Rafters.

In this Minor League Podcast episode, Adam Pohl, the voice of the Double-A Bowie Baysox, and Dean Jones Jr., minor league reporter for BaltimoreBaseball.com, discuss how Mountcastle, Scott and other Orioles’ prospects have done so far in the AFL, and what the role will be for some of those players in 2018.

If you can’t get enough baseball/Orioles talk, we have you covered today.
