O’s-Nats rained out Thursday; will make up game Thursday, June 8 in Washington

WASHINGTON — The Orioles and Nationals won’t play the fourth and final game of their home-and home series until June.

Thursday’s game was postponed due to rain and has been rescheduled for 7:05 p.m., Thursday, June 8 at Nationals Park.

That is one of just two mutual off days that the two clubs have for the remainder of the season: The other is this Monday, and Buck Showalter, for one, has been talking about how important having that breather will be for his club.

So, Thursday’s game, which is the Orioles’ first postponement of this season after having four last year, will be moved to June, following a two-game series against Pittsburgh at Camden Yards and before a seven-game road trip to New York and Chicago.

The Nationals announced that their pitching rotation for the weekend in Philadelphia will remain the same, meaning A.J. Cole, Thursday’s scheduled starter, will be skipped.

The Orioles will push every starter back a day, so Dylan Bundy, who was supposed to pitch Thursday. will start Friday at Kansas City. Chris Tillman will pitch Saturday and Kevin Gausman, Sunday.

Tickets for Thursday’s game can be used for the June 8 contest. For more information, go to nationals.com/rain.
