Olsufka, Prosperi and Radcliffe vie for this week’s ‘Prep Ballplayer’ award

This week had it all.

There were blowouts and walk-off wins throughout the six days of action.

Three new players are up for the “Prep Ballplayer of the Week” vote.

Josh Olsufka, So., INF, Marriotts Ridge
The sophomore showcased his power in two games. On Friday against Atholton, Olsufka hit a home run in the team’s 10-0 win. A day later, he crushed a three-run shot in an 8-6 victory over Mt. Hebron. The right-handed hitter knocked in four runs and drew two walks.

Michael Prosperi, Jr., LHP, Arundel
Prosperi tossed a complete-game shutout Friday against North County. The southpaw struck out nine and allowed three hits in the 1-0 victory.

Zack Radcliffe, Sr., LHP/OF, Bel Air
Radcliffe’s consistency was one like no other. The left-handed hitter started the week off with two hits, three RBIs and two runs scored against Fallston. He also drew a walk and reached base on a hit-by-pitch in the 13-12 win. On Thursday, the senior singled and scored a run in a 7-1 win over C. Milton Wright. A day later, Bel Air found itself facing off against the Mustangs again. Radcliffe struck out eight in four shutout innings of relief and helped himself at the plate – recording two hits, two RBIs, a run scored and a walk in the 14-2 rout.
