Orioles swap relievers, recall Cameron Foster, option Josh Walker; O’s-Nationals lineups

 

WASHINGTON—In the final game of their three-game series with the Washington Nationals, the Orioles will face an opener, left-hander Richard Lovelady, who saved Friday night’s game. The Nationals will use Miles Mikolas as their bulk pitcher.

The Orioles have lost five straight games to the Nationals for the first time since they dropped six straight from May 10th, 2017-June 19th, 2018.

The Orioles recalled right-handed reliever Cameron Foster from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned left-hander Josh Walker to Norfolk.

Foster has a 5.87 ERA in five games with the Orioles this season. Walked allowed two runs in the eighth inning of Saturday’s 13-3 loss. He had a 4.50 ERA in three games.

The Orioles visit the refurbished Tropicana Field for three games with the Tampa Bay Rays beginning Monday night. Trevor Rogers, Kyle Bradish and Shane Baz will start for the Orioles. Shane McClanahan, Griffin Jax and a pitcher to be determined will start for the Rays .
