Question: What is your impression of Craig Albernaz’s managerial skills from what you’ve seen in spring training? Is it a net positive, negative or neutral and why? From: Mark Galla
Answer: Mark, I promised readers and myself that I wouldn’t make any judgments on Albernaz’s managing until he completes a month of the season.
There’s no strategy in spring training, so I don’t know how he’s going to handle situations.
On the other hand, I didn’t see anything in spring training that made me think that Albernaz can’t handle a major league club.
Question: Jackson Holliday and Andrew Kittredge, if all goes well, will be back in just a couple of weeks. So two players who make the Opening Day roster, well, their joy will be short-lived. So instead of all the Opening Day roster hype, why not predict the roster on April 15th? From: Rick Bobzien
Answer: Rick, that’s an interesting thought, but I’ll guess that there will be other roster moves before both of them are ready to play. You’re assuming that the 26-man roster will stay intact until Holliday and Kittredge return, and I’m not sure that’s a good assumption.
Most weekdays, I’ll be answering at least one Orioles question. If you’d like to submit a question, send it to: Rich@BaltimoreBaseball.com. Questions may be edited for clarity, length and style.
