SARASOTA—The Orioles announced the signing of right-handed starter Chris Bassitt on Friday. Bassitt, who will turn 37 on February 22nd, signed a one-year deal for a reported $18.5 million.
Bassitt, who has pitched for the Chicago White Sox, Oakland Athletics, New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays, is 83-65 with a 3.64 ERA. He was 11-9 with a 3.96 ERA in 32 games for the Blue Jays last season.
He allowed a run on three hits in 8 2/3 postseason innings, all in relief, last season.
Bassitt’s signing fills the Orioles’ 40-man roster.
