Infielder Luis Vázquez agreed to terms on a 2026 major league contract, the Orioles announced on Thursday night. It was the second contract the team agreed to on Thursday.
Vázquez joined right-hander Rico Garcia, whose contract agreement was announced earlier in the day.
Because of injuries to Jordan Westburg and Jorge Mateo and the trade of Ramón Urías, Vázquez played a bigger role on the 2025 Orioles than expected.
He hit .160 in 32 games with a home run and three RBIs, starting six games at shortstop, four at third base and three at second base and was often used as a defensive replacement.
Vázquez played one inning at first base and threw 4 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits in lopsided games.
